What type of produce do we use?
We use local produce when possible depending on the season, cost and availability. We always use the freshest, best quality produce which offers the best tasting nutrient filled juice. We have taken great care to safely clean your produce and remove residue. Get ready to juice!
How do I prepare the produce?
After washing, peel the citrus fruits (lemon, lime and oranges). The easiest way to peel all citrus (lemon, lime, orange) is to quarter them from top to bottom or the length of citrus. Then work thumbs in on ends to peel easily. Trim the pineapple rind/skin but you can leave some brown spines and keep core. Leave skin on apple and keep core intact and cut only to fit your juicer or blender. Use ½ of the ginger to start and no need to peel. Cut carrots to fit and no need to peel. For lemon, lime and ginger add ½ and taste as you can always add more or less depending on your preference. Keep it personal, add or omit any ingredient to your liking.
How do I use the blender to make a smoothie?
If your using a Vita Mix or other blender follow directions in the FAQ under “How do I prepare produce?” Next, we recommend freezing ingredients for optimum taste in a smoothie. To start add 8 ounces liquid of choice (i.e. Coconut Water, Almond Milk or Spring Water) to blender, add ½ of the frozen ingredients in the pouch to the liquid. Some people like to add a sweetener to the smoothie (i.e. agave nectar, honey, stevia) and/or other super foods (i.e. chia seeds, flax seeds, maca powder, protein). Blend and drink delicious smoothie or put it in a cold thermos and take with you to work. Not all blenders will achieve the same consistency or taste. We recommend using ½ the pouch for making smoothies in a Vita Mix or Blend Tec. If using the Nutri Bullet, you need to add approximately ¼ to ½ of the pouch ingredients with liquid and sweetener of choice.
